Challenge

The client, a major player in the construction materials industry, was knowledgeable about their payments environment and believed it was well-optimized for their operations. However, after initial discussions, they were open to exploring potential areas for added efficiency and automation. With limited internal IT resources, they sought external expertise to audit their processes and evaluate options for upgrading their point-of-sale systems and considering kiosk solutions.

Solution

Redbridge’s Payments Advisory team performed an in-depth audit of the client’s payment processes. This review uncovered inefficiencies and identified areas needing adjustments to align with policies the client assumed were already followed. To address these findings, Redbridge:

  • Conducted an RFP to identify options for automating payment processes 
  • Provided recommendations to decouple their point-of-sale system, giving flexibility for future technology upgrades, including a potential kiosk solution 
  • Identified retail outlets not adhering to the client’s payment processing procedures 
  • With limited IT resources, the client chose to prioritize internal process improvements and delay point-of-sale upgrades, coordinating these changes with others in their industry

Results

The client worked with Redbridge to stage out implementations within their existing roadmap of deployments. This has allowed the client to receive incremental benefits as they work towards full implementation of the selected recommendations. The incremental benefits attained from the rollout has built trust and momentum towards more rapid deployment.
